"Dream" Progressing Toward Summer Release

The fifth book in the Soul-Linked Saga, "The Gryphons' Dream" is coming along nicely and is still on target for release sometime this Summer.  Laura Jo has about 40% of the book written, and is working on it as much as ten and twelve hours a day.  We can't project the release date more precisely at this point--creativity does not happen according to a rigorous production schedule.  Laura Jo is producing a novel, not a Chevy Impala.

Anyway, watch this space for further announcements about the publication date.  Plus, there is a big surprise that we will be announcing soon, so watch this space for that, too.

Preview Display Issues

Some readers have told us that they are having problems reading the preview recently posted on the Laura Jo Phillips web site of the next book in the Soul-Linked Saga.  We have looked at the page on three different computers with several different web browsers and have been unable to replicate the problem; accordingly, we have no idea how to fix it.  We (especially Laura Jo) are generally pretty capable in these areas, but if if we can't see the problem we can't solve it.

As far as we can tell, the problem is limited to a very small number of readers.  The page looks normal every time we view it.

Given our inability to replicate and remedy the problem, we ask that, if you are unable to read the preview, please email us at laurajophillips.books@gmail.com and we will email the preview to you.

We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Laura Jo is working very hard on this new offering.  I think she has some very, very interesting and unexpected developments for you.  This one is gonna be goooooooood.

Farewell to Harvey G. Honsinger

The world recently lost a superlative "new" novelist.  Harvey G. Honsinger, a writer whom Laura Jo and I admire very much, passed away in his home from cancer a few weeks ago.  Although Honsinger was 78 years old, he had published his first novel only a few months before.  Grace's statement in The Bearens' Hope that she would be as "quiet as mice on cotton" was an homage to Mr. Honsinger--a quote from the first line of his excellent book Fire Hair:  A Novel of the West, which is available in paperback and e-book format on Amazon.com.

He was a warm, humorous, and colorful man, as well as a wonderful writer with a splendid ear for dialogue and an encyclopedic knowledge of the Old West.  He left many manuscripts behind, and we hope to have a role in bringing this body of outstanding work to the attention of the public.

I am back from attending to my family business on the Gulf Coast.  Regular (or at least more frequent) updates will resume.  My thanks to everyone who expressed their good wishes.
